New Playroom

So....When we moved into our house over 2 years ago, this formal dining room area became a storage area for 'all things baby'....strollers, bouncy seats, swings, playmats, etc. Pretty soon, Trevor's first birthday came along and it was suddenly filled with toys galore. He loved his playroom! Me on the other hand...well, let's just say it bugged the heck out of me having a room at the very front of our house that everyone saw was a huge pile of red, blue, and yellow plastic items that sang or played music everytime you tripped accross the floor of the playroom. So...after some deep thought and many countless hours searching potterybarn.com for playroom ideas...this is what was constructed. A huge shout-out to Papa Ron who helped make my valance boxes(the finishing touch I might add). I really wish I had some fantastic pictures of the BEFORE room, but just use your imagination.
This is what you see when you walk in the door. I was obsessed with putting a wall decal up. I think the Don't Postpone Joy is a nice playroom message....just be happy now :) And the little red pottery barn bookshleves are super cute. Also, notice the craftsman workbench against the wall...one of Trevor's favorite xmas gifts. The little wooden table was actually mine and Matt's when we were kids. Go figure, my dad saved it for 30 years!

I made these three pictures out of scrapbook paper and a few downloaded clipart stencils. By the time I purchased the frame and matte and paper, it was probably just as expensive as buying a piece of art would've been...but so much better because they were made by mommy!
